How to play Trade Crash

A round takes about a minute. Everyone in the room sees the same synthetic price chart and decides when to get out.

Everything here is fictional. The prices are generated by the game, points are virtual and have no monetary value, nothing can be deposited, withdrawn or won as a prize, and nothing on this site is financial advice. Trade Crash is for entertainment.

A round, step by step

  1. Choose. During a short waiting phase (about 20 seconds) you choose LONG or SHORT. Other players' choices stay hidden until selections lock. If you do not choose, you watch the round.
  2. Watch the chart. The server publishes the price one update at a time. Every player starts from the same entry price, the open of the first candle. Future prices are never sent to anyone.
  3. Close, or hold. Press CLOSE at any moment to lock your result at the latest price. If you do nothing, the round decides for you.
  4. The Crash. Every round ends with a final Crash. See below.
  5. Verify. After the round the full chart and the round's seed are revealed, and your browser checks them against the commitment published before the round started (open “Verification details” in the result bar).

LONG and SHORT

LONG gains when the price rises above the entry price and loses when it falls. SHORT is the opposite. Both sides see the same percentage moves.

Multiplier and virtual points

  • Every round uses the same fixed virtual stake of 100 points. There is no balance to manage and nothing to buy.
  • Your position has a multiplier that starts at 1.00x. Each 1% move in your favour adds 0.20x and each 1% move against you takes 0.20x away. It cannot go below 0.00x, which a 5% move against you reaches.
  • Your result is the stake times your multiplier when you close, so you can never lose more than the stake. Results are added to your total and to the leaderboards, which rank cumulative net points. The leaderboards are provisional, and points have no monetary value.

Closing and elimination

  • Voluntary close. Your multiplier is locked at the latest price the server has published. If a new price arrives at the same moment as your CLOSE, the price wins.
  • Elimination. After a quiet period the price breaks out in one direction. A position that is still open and is on the other side when the breakout is confirmed is eliminated and finishes at 0.00x. A position on the breakout side survives and can keep going.
  • The final Crash. The round ends with a sudden crash. Every position still open when it happens is liquidated at 0.00x, so the way to keep a result is to close before it.

Rules and numbers can be adjusted during the beta; this page describes how the game works now.
